Building upon the successful Business Retention and Expansion model, a six-month pilot project has been launched for non-profit and community groups (CGRE). We know that proactive and in-depth consultation at an early stage offers the best chance to save or grow a community asset; whether a recreation centre or festivals and events. The goal is to uncover 'red-flags', obstacles or challenges facing an individual group or an entire sector.
The interview and survey produces pertinent data, trends and success stories that will benefit all groups in the region. Ultimately CGRE will help identify opportunities for new projects and allow community-driven initiatives to prosper and become sustainable. A report will be completed in September 2010.
